About WMRC

Hosted by the Medical Robotics Society, organized by ROBO Health Institute and co-organized by Chinese Society of Biomedical Engineering, the 2016 World Medical Robot Conference (2016 WMRC) had been successfully held. WMRC is a huge milestone in medical robotics field combining scientific researches, clinical and industrial applications. Prof. Dr. Yangshen Xu from Chinese Academy of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Hannes Bleuler from Switzerland Academy of Science and Technology, Prof. Dr. David Lau from Singapore Academy of Medical, Prof. Dr. Jian'an Li from Institute of Medicine, National Academy of Science and other experts from China, United States, France, Switzerland, UK, Russia, Singapore and Korea were invited. 23 speakers and presenters discussed the development of medical robotics in 2016 WMRC. There were about 20 keynotes and discussions held in six different sub-fields (surgical robot, robotic-assisted medical treatment, medical robot and AI, rehabilitation robot, medical robot+, etc.). Nearly 1210 articles about WMRC were published by Xinhua News, People's Daily, CNS, CNR, Nanfang Daily and NBC, PR Newswire, CNBC, business times and other main mediums. The affect of WMRC has been spread to the academia and industrial in US, Russia, Netherland and Switzerland.

Based on the success in 2016, the conference is expected to be held annually. In 2017, it will be held on Nov. 25-26. The theme of 2017 WMRC is 'One Belt One Road, Medical Robotics From Scientific Research To Clinical Application’. Panel discussions, roadshows about medical robotics and exhibition fairs will be new features in 2017. We are aiming at accelerating the communication in medical robotics field between academic and business application, enhancing the cooperation in medical robotics between China and western countries, and driving the development in medical robotics industry all over the world.
